How many sleeps?

The app that helps children make sense of time

How many sleeps?

“When are the holidays?”

Before the age of six or seven, "in three weeks" means nothing to a child. An abstract duration is not something they can picture — but a number of nights is. It is a unit they live through every day, one they can count, and one they can watch run out.

How many sleeps? turns every family date into a number of sleeps and updates it on its own, every night. No more counting it out in your head fifteen times a day: the number is right there, on the widget or on the sheet pinned to the wall.

An app for parents, made to be read together

You create the events and pick the dates; your child has nothing to operate. The countdown is something you look at together, often at bedtime, and the screen is built to be read by two: large numbers, illustrations, one colour per season, no filler text.

Nothing is there to capture attention: no account to create, no feed, no notification designed to pull anyone back in. And the printable sheets take the countdown off the screen — one square to colour in each morning, on the fridge or above the bed. That is the part a child owns alone, and usually the part they like best.

Birthdays, holidays, Christmas, back to school…

Add as many events as you like, each with its own illustration. The app already knows the main school and holiday dates for the country you live in — you only have to confirm them.

A widget shows the next event straight on the home screen, and a notification lands as the big day approaches.

Start your first countdown tonight

Available on iPhone, iPad and Android. An event takes less than a minute to create, and the first "how many sleeps?" gets asked at bedtime.
